Any day at the beach is a good beach but today's weather was SPECTACULAR! Blue skies and sun all day with a light breeze. Got to run the boardwalk today down past the pier. I have to say this is one of my most perfectly manicured beach areas I have ever seen. Every mile is lined with flowers, plants, paver stones, etc. No dumpy areas at all.
We also got to sample our first Duck Donuts. You might say a donut is a donut or at least I did until I had one. The dough itself is really very good. They custom make your donut and serve them up to you hot. A nice little treat to kick off the day. Once we got ready, we were ready for a round of Mini-Golf. VA Beach is a mix of indoor and outdoor mini-golf which is great for rainy days. We went to Jungle Golf which was a short walk.

The Walking Buddies
One word about this location, you can walk everywhere. Yeah, the heat is there but when we didn't walk we Uber-ed. We haven't used our car once this week. That is such a great change of pace and if you want an adult beverage (or three) you don't have to worry about a thing.

Jungle Golf
Jungle Golf was a nice surprise with a lot of lush flowers and plants and challenging holes. But what really made this unique was the way they had spinners that varied up the game. Rules like use your hand, move someone's ball, put the club behind your back all made this round really fun. Jen came out on top! We now think she isn't really working late but she is practicing at Lahey's fun park.

Kite Flying Pose Re-Do

Once we got back to the room, it was a quick bite and out to the beach. The water temps were perfect and the waves just right for body surfing. It was then time to get out the kite with our new tail spinner. "Now that is a kite" Jillian overheard someone say. With no rushing around we stayed on the beach until late afternoon.

Waterman's Dining Out!
Once we got to the room we showered up and got ready for dinner at one of the most popular places at VA Beach, Waterman's. Located at the mouth of the inlet, Waterman's is an outdoor and indoor dining experience. We were a bit at the mercy of the wait though since they did not accept reservations. No worries....when it was time to eat, we were ready!
We hopped in an Uber with "James" who was quite the character and headed back to the hotel.
Days at the beach can really take their toll but Jake was still ready to go. Jen and Jake went downstairs to the boardwalk while Jill and I hung out on the balcony.

Fireworks on the Sea
We all had a perfect view of the fireworks that were launched off a ship right in front of our hotel. Perfect was to end a great day.
